Reproduction Fashions

In 1988, Hasbro had plans to release new lines of fashions for Jem dolls. Some were known of through catalogue images and some have only come to the surface in recent years.

Some of the fashions pictured in catalogues and on doll’s boxes were also prototypes and differed from the produced fashions of the same name. So some of these as reproductions are featured here also.

So this is my page of reproductions of some of these prototype fashions. Some of these were given names and some were not, therefor as a way to title them, I have given some of them my own names. As these were prototypes, most of them did not have shoes to go with them, or the correct shoes are not known of, so I have added shoe choices of my own, some which are custom made to match with the fashions.

‘ Music On Tour’

‘Music On Tour’ is the name I have given this fashion and is a reproduction of a prototype ‘Music Is Magic’ fashion. As the released fashions from this line all came with instruments, I have made a keyboard to go with this fashion. The Aja doll featured has been given long, darker blue hair, as this is a very special fashion and deserves a very special doll to be dressed in it.

The pictured version on the box of ‘Splashes of Sound’ had a patterned fabric like this reproduction. The produced fashion ended up with a different fabric, so this one pictured here is a representation of the original prototype.

‘ Splashes Of Sound’

‘Dressed For Success’ is the name I have given this fashion and is a reproduction of a prototype ‘Smashin’ Fashion’ that is known as the ‘Confetti fashion’

‘ Dressed For Success’

‘Surprise Surprise’

‘ Designs On You’

‘Surprise Surprise’ is the name I have given this fashion and is a reproduction of a prototype ‘Smashin’ Fashion’ that is known as the ‘Baloon fashion’ because of the pants.

‘Designs On You’ is the name I have given this fashion and is a reproduction of a prototype ‘On Stage’ that is known as the fashion like ‘Designing Woman’ as there are some similarities to that fashion due to the colors and style, especially the use of frills.

This reproduction is a version of ‘Only The Beginning’ like what is seen on the posters. As the poster version was different to the released fashion.

‘ Golden Frills’
